Aims

Goals of the project:

General objectives of the project:

  1. The proposed project refers to the field of green technologies and resource efficiency. The project will contribute to the retention of the postdoctoral fellow Nikolay Panchev at IPC and to the expansion of his expertise in the field of liquid films and foams with an emphasis on the use of green chemistry.
  2. The project team has the support of Aurubis Bulgaria and is in contact with other industrial partners with an interest in the implementation of green sustainable solutions in the field of floatation. The implementation of the project will provide opportunities for new collaborations and increase the capacity of IPC-BAS for conducting scientific and applied research in the field of green technologies.

Specific objectives:

  1. Investigation of the adsorption properties at air/liquid interface for a preliminary screening of green surfactants.
  2. Investigation of the behavior and stability of thin liquid films.
  3. Construction of Foam analyzer.
  4. Investigation of the stability of polyhedral and monodisperse foams formed under conditions comparable to those of films.
  5. Establishing film-foam correlation relationships.
  6. Establishing the presence of synergistic effects in mixtures of green surfactants for optimized performance.
  7. Based on the obtained results, select specific surfactants with potential for industrial application.
